Racist Racism

Alright I have a rant. Its an issue Ive dealt with all my life. Racism. Being of Hispanic and Italian background I look less Mexican than most but still face all the discrimination and stereotypes that comes with it. I only bring this up because I had to face it again two weeks ago when I was out of town visiting a friend for his graduation. There was a bunch of us at a house and me and another buddy decided to hit the bars to have a couple of drinks and play some pool. Later on, another friend joined us. Long story short, later that night as we were having a heated discussion about life, a subject that always seems to come up with drunk people, we decide to leave and on our way out some douchebags start talking to us from the bar's balcony. The argument started getting pretty heated between us and the balcony idiots. They wanted to know where we were from, I should mention it was me, another hispanic friend and a white friend, just so you can understand that they weren't talking to Jeremy, my "white" friend; they were talking to the "hispanic kids" as they referred to us. Anyway, they were implying certain stereotypes towards us like asking why weren't picking fruit or why weren't we in a small car sneaking over the border shit like that; I started to get pretty annoyed with them and told them to either shut the fuck up or bring their sorry punkasses down here so I can spit in their fucking faces. Thats when the racial slurs started flying around. All hell broke loose after that.

I cant be a fucking man now; now I have to be some fucking beaner, a damn porch monkey now. Why cant we be on the fucking level? Fucking cowards! Only one of them were brave enough to come down and we fucked him up as his friends were pulling him back.

You get alcohol in the fucking blood stream and the true person comes out. What they really are thinking falls through the filter and then you are able to see the fucking racist fucks that still exist around us. This type of thing happens every so often and it almost doesn't surprise me anymore, its something that I've come to live with, NOT accept! These fucking idiots get told by their fucking daddy about the world in a non-realistic way and somehow we have to fix our lives around the way they think the world should work. Fuck that Shit! I bow to no one and I will never live my life the way they think I should fucking live my life. I'll put up with shit, Ill argue with ignorant fucks but I will never take racism lieing down.

It just angers me that this type of ignorant ideals still exist underneath thin layers of shallow personalities. Its all just there right beneath the surface just waiting to get provoked and turn any person into a racist fuck. And I dont care if they aren't like that all the time; I dont care that they are a different person when they are sober and I will not listen to the fucking excuse that it was the alcohol talking. Fuck That! That shit comes from somewhere and thats an issue that just doesn't manifest itself from nowhere. The fact that people keep this shit hidden under just a thin layer of superficial crap makes it kinda scary for us minorities. You can't ever really tell. You want to believe that Racism doesn't exist and it isn't a big a problem as it was in the past but its still here and its still just as big. Just because we don't see "whites only" signs or burning crosses or police dogs biting minority people doesn't mean racism doesn't still exist in a big way. This plague just learned to evolve to survive and it has become more covert.

Its hard enough to go through life as a fucking human being, thats hard enough. Add another layer with racism and it makes it almost impossible on paper. All your insecurities, all your doubts about yourself comes with life itself and then society feels like throwing another curve ball and we have to somehow find a way to hit that fucker out of the park. There's enough to worry about with the way you dress, how much you know, what kind of education did you get, what job you have, the small superficial shit that comes with living in a society. Now we have to go to the mirror and worry about the color of our fucking skin?

Some young kid has the whole world to look forward to right now and at some point when he looks into the mirror that whole world will seem a little less brighter when he finally notices the color of his skin because before that moment that color never existed in that mirror. It was a monochrome mirror. But with life comes the views of society and no matter how hard your shell is, underneath we are all soft. We all let out those tears no one sees. Life doesn't care we are suffocating from the pain. We have to just pick ourselves up, dust off and keep moving from that moment.

No matter how much I bitch and moan about it, the likely hood is that it wont go away. But no matter what I say, we have made strides to something better but with those strides racism just evolves and it continues to survive and thats the sad part. The sad truth is that most of us will have to live with it and most of those will be forced to accept it and I just cant stand for that.

Great rant fly, yes there are so many fucking racists that keep it in check most of the time, they think because they aren't dropping the N word in public that they are hiding it well, being politically correct. However it's what they say in private with their friends, when they get drunk or under their breaths that keep the wave of racism alive in this country. You don't have to scream racial slurs at the top of your lungs to be racist, the slights, stares, and non verbal clues are enough to continue to racism in this country

I know it sucks too because when you get totally culture shocked that paranoid feeling increases. You know that feeling when you hear people laughing and whispering and you think they are laughing and talking about you. Well, when you see racist act with superficial covers then you get a little more paranoid and its hard to fight that feeling.

I changed the title of your rant on the blog and am ready to open up a discussion in BC's shameless blog promotion but would like you to be available to participate since it is your rant... Are you gonna be online tonight or if not lemme know when is a good time to open it up

You can start that discussion whenever you like, Im usually in and out of the house. But I'll definitely drop in to add to the discussion. Its just Im never quite here all the time so whenever you want you can start the discussion and Ill be sure to add. Oh, and if you put up my rant on BC you probably want to take out some of the cuss words so they dont take it down all quick. And if you want; add a link to that article I put up.
